Close reefed and scudding before the wind...

Hold Fast & Clap On...if you enjoy Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin novels you know it ain't all smooth sailing, and life is like that. This picture from the movie Master & Commander is especially moving as there is a man overboard and Ralph Vaughn Williams improvisation of Thomas Tallis' Third Mode Melody, a haunting tune, is playing. You'll find it as Psalm 63 in Cantus Christi.

Are you, by any chance, related to Dan Penney who lives in Senegal, Africa? I am Dan's wife's - Esther - aunt in CA. I ran across your name on Garrett Craw's blog.

I believe I'm as related to Dan Penney as I am to J.C., which is to say, not! But I am glad to see that his last name is spelled correctly. ;-) We Penneys are here on Long Island, NY. I'm the pastor of Covenant Christian Fellowship (CREC candidate church)and my wife, Dorie, and I have 4 boys ages 28, 26, 23, and 10....all homeschooled. Check out our church website (under construction) http://ccfreformed.net Are you part of the church plant Garrett will be pastoring?

Quite possibly - we certainly support what he is doing. Garrett is a wonderful man, we love his family and are praying for Kingdom expansion in Santa Clarita.
My husband is currently a deacon at our church (previously Garret and Michele's church) and our
(homeschooled) children are tied in there. Actually, Sun. we graduate our second child - on to Biola and their Torrey Honors Institute - of which she and our youngest (soon to be a Jr.) have been involved - the graduate for all three years of the high school program. It is a fabulous program - there is an on-line component which she did her last year - check it out for your family and others you may know. I can't say enough good about it - it really solidified Reformed thought for them - and so much more.......Thanks for answering.
Blessings to you and all your Penneys.
